In 2014, I launched ernest, an independent journal for enquiring minds, which published 11 printed editions plus an award-winning digital magazine & a bespoke edition for Another Place Hotels
Founding ernest proved to be an ideal vehicle through which to dig deeper into slow travel and extol the virtues of exploring one place well, immersing oneself in a landscape and culture, and establishing a mindset that values curiosity, connection and authenticity. Through its honest, engaging and hopeful storytelling – often told by conservationists, oceanographers, trail guides and activists – ernest spoke to readers about the ways we connect to landscape and find wonder in the world.
