Feature writing

Over the years, I’ve written for Countryfile magazine, Ernest Journal, the Guardian, Independent, Cloth, The Simple Things, greentraveller.co.uk, Pretty Nostalgic and various other travel, craft and food titles. I have a particular interest in exploring Britain, slow adventure, wild food, outdoor kit, workmanship, sustainable travel, mythology, curious histories, characterful places to stay, inspiring people and alternative lifestyles.

Along the way I’ve conquered a few Munros, built a boat with one of Britain’s last coracle makers, thrown myself down a mountain to test ice axes, been chased by cows while researching walking guides, organised a public transport race across Wales, learnt to navigate by observing the shape of leaves, swam all over the UK and Europe for wild swimming titles, climbed waterfalls, explored the most beautiful corners of our Kingdom and spent many long happy hours on trains.
